Don't Mind If I Do....

OMBRE NAILS....

yeahhh I'm obsessed!!

1.Two color polishes and a topcoat. You can choose colors that compliment or go bold and pick two that clash. Experiment with different combinations and see what works.

2. A sponge, a plastic sheet and toothpicks. I bought a big bathroom sponge and I just cut sections off when I need them. The sections don't have to be perfectly cut, as long as one side is flat it will work. You can use absolutely any sponge - a makeup sponge, washing up sponge or any other kind of sponge you can find.

Step 1: Using the lightest of the two colors, paint your nails and wait for it to dry completely.
Step 2: On a flat surface, paint a generous amount of the colors right next to each other on to the plastic. Make sure they're just about touching at the edges.
Step 3: Using a toothpick, swirl the two colors together in where they meet. The area where they mix will determine the length of the graduation. So if you want a long graduation, mix a bigger section of the colors, if you want less of a fade, just mix them together a tiny bit.
Step 4: Take your sponge and dab it directly down on to the polish a few times.
Step 5: Dab the sponge directly down on to your nail. Keep dabbing lightly and moving it very slightly up and down your nail.
You can repeat this step as many times as you need to. Just make sure each layer is completely dry before sponging again otherwise you will start smudging the bottom layers and ruin the whole thing.)
Step 6: Add a topcoat. Or two or three! The sponging makes this mani very bumpy so you may need a couple of topcoats just to even out the surface
Step 7: Clean up all the excess using a brush dipped in acetone or polish remover. I use a Q-tip dipped in remover for the big bits I can reach on my skin, then a small brush in pure acetone as I get closer to my nail and to make a crisp line near the cuticles.

There's Nothing Funny About this Business...

Ohhhh Target I just can't ignore you anymore.

I do believe I will have to be on a target boycott, and it breaks my heart....
Why you ask?

wellllll in the past the company has donated 150,000 to Anti-gay groups.
READ THIS
then there was this ...
the POWER OF GAGA
So thinking everything was going to be okay...
but thennnnn
they decided not to sell Frank Ocean's new album (who's openly gay)
They state  "Channel Orange," due to hit stores July 17, was made because the singer's label Def Jam opted to release the album exclusively on iTunes a week before it would be available in retail outlets".
Howeverrrrrrr
Target does currently stock another album that was first exclusively released on iTunes before it was sold in stores -- 2011's platinum-selling "Watch the Throne," by rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West. That album, which incidentally was released by Ocean's label Def Jam. They also sell Owl City's second album which was released on iTunes before in-stores.
READ MORE HERE

Sounds strange to me...especially when Frank Ocean's "Channel Orange" is such an amazing piece of art,  it leaves one to believe there's more to story.

I was a HUGE Target fan, especially over Walmart but theres no way i could personally be okay spending my hard dollars at a store who does this. It's very disappointing as a consumer and a supporter.
I for one will not spend my money at retailer who doesn't support equality.

Music Minute: Channel Orange.

Hello music lovers!

Frank Ocean. If you don't know this name then you're missing out. His debut album is a masterpiece.  He accomplishes in his first album what many artist aspire to their entire careers; Channel Orange successfully tells a story. Now you have to realize that this album won't be for everyone because its a dark HONEST story but serious it's an incredible piece of art. I can't even pick the strongest track because they all fit together so tightly, its impossible for me to choose!  Give it a listen and listen to WHOLE album all the way through! You won't be disappointed!

Movie Talk: Magic Mike edition

'Magic Mike'
Need I say more?
Well, actually  I do, because this movie is more than just hot, naked guys. I mean don't get me wrong there's plenty of that to go around. But Magic Mike is more than that, it has a lot of heart. Channing Tatum nails his role as Magic Mike. He makes you laugh, cry, and envious of every extra on that set. He plays his stripper role very charismatically and his protective sensitive role to a tee. Alex Pettyfer also does a great job playing the 'newbie'. And being the newbie he gets himself in some sticky situations, and Pettyfer does a great job at playing the pretty but lost soul. The major down fall of this movie was the love story...it was unbelievable. Not to mention the chemistry between Tatum and Cody Horn was comparable to that of an awkward exchange between two people on a blind date. Cody Horn herself wasn't likable, she was awkward and distant. She also had a serious case of 'KStew' face...you know emotionless and pretty much the same face the whole movie. Other than that the movie was entertaining, and funny! Matthew McConaughey steals the movie with his outrageously funny scenes! Overall its a good girls night out movie, with more too it than just sexy boys; i would have liked to see Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello have a bigger part but they do their jobs well!

Music Minute: BELIEVE

Hey fellow music lovers!  Here's my music minute review of Justin Bieber's new album 'Believe'.
Because we are talking about the Biebs, I believe I need a disclaimer so here it is: I'm not a fan girl, or Believer but I'm not native enough to not realize this kid is majorly talented. So here's my Un-bias is review of his new album. And yes, I realize this is a little late but I like to give the album sometime to grow on me before judging it.

1. All Around the World (feat. Ludacris) Luda + JB= another great pop song. This is one my favorite songs on the album; It's catchy, fun and upbeat.
2. Boyfriend: At first I was disappointed by the first Single of JB's album but this song grew on me and I enjoy it. However it is quickly being over played on the radio....But still a great pop song!
3. As Long As You Love Me (feat. Big Sean): the hype around this song is huge, and it will JB's second single off his CD but for me it just falls flat. I wanted it to grow on me but it never did...I guess ill stick to the Backstreet Boys version of this song (:
4. Catching Feelings: I like the tone of this song...Justin's not talking about falling in love he's more focused on the feelings.
5. Take You: One of my favorite songs off the album, its fun. It does a great job of showing off JB's new vocal ranges.
6. Right Here (feat. Drake):  I'm a sucker for any Drake collaboration, however I feel like this one was a wasted opportunity. It a good song, maybe one of Bieber's strongest...but I can't help feeling like I've heard it before...maybe in 'Right Next to You' with Chris Brown...maybe its just me.
7. Fall:  One of the best songs on the album; it's a typical JB slow pop song and it works.
8. Died in Your Arms:  I love this song. I think this is Justin's biggest jump. The song has a Motown feel to it and you know what it works.
9. Thought of You: A great song, not too serious but fun to listen to regardless. Justin gets to show off his vocal range.
10. Beauty and a Beat (fest Nicki Minaj): YES. Best song on the album; sure its corny but it's loads of fun. I find this one on repeat daily!
11. One Love:  This also goes back to Justin's traditional stuff but it works for him.
12. Be Alright This one grew on me. Its simple and raw but got a great meaning.
13. Believe:  The title track of the album does just what it's called; it makes you 'Believe' not just in Bieber but in his fans. Great song.
14. Out of Town Girl: Not feeling it. AT ALL.
15. She Don't Like the Lights: I'm hit or miss on this one...it's got a great beat but the lyrics are ridiculous.
16. Maria:   Justin channeled his inner Michael Jackson on this one, it has a 'Billy Jean' feel to it. It works but not the strongest.

Overall it's a strong album. You gotta hand it to the kid; he took some chances. Some paid off greatly and others fell flat. I'm sad to say that I'm disappointed...I was hoping he would do more mature stuff and head towards to a Chris Brown/Drake route (i.e., his remixes of 'Ladies Love Me' & 'Trust Issues')...but 'Believe' definite step in the right direction.

Movie Talk: Spidy Edition

Hello my darlings! It's been awhile but I'm back ((: Since I have a profound love for movies, I decided to add a new category to my blog. Welcome to my new movie review page...Movie talk! I'm not a professional but sometimes its good hear someone else's opinion on a movie before deciding if you want to see it or not. ENJOY!

First up: The Amazing Spiderman:

This movies wasn't what I would call 'amazing' however, highly entertaining does cross my mind. The problem is the story line: We've seen it before in 2002 version of this movie. Peter Parker and his childhood troubles, then his transformation.  This is no Christopher Nolan story line here, but much more lighthearted and family friendly. Also, another issue with this movie the villain...he was boring and bland. However, what this movie has that the pervious versions didn't: an amazing cast. Andrew Garfield shines as Peter Parker. He's awkward, geeky, adorable and charming; the audience can't help but fall for him. Throw in the spectacular Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and you have a match made in casting heaven.  (As of lately the of chemistry between co-stars has been lacking, or so I think) Garfield and Stones's scenes are what ties the movie together and add the touch of humanity.  Additionally there's Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field who all do a tremendous job. Let's not forget the up and comer Chris Zylka as the school bully, who does a great job.  Overall 'The Amazing Spiderman' put the heart back into a franchise that was lacking after the disappointing 'Spiderman 3'. It's funny, charismatic and a great summer blockbuster.

Happy watching!

Three for Thursday: ONE TREE HILL EDITION

Hello my darlings! I hope your having a fabulous week! Because my favorite show is coming to end after 9...YES 9 seasons i thought id give you a run down of all things ONE TREE HILL in three's!

Here's my 3 favorite moments from ONE TREE HILL....
Number 3: Sparkle Classic
I've always loved this scene,
the girls are all together and finally getting along.
Then the boys join them up on stage.
loveeee it!

Number 2: Nathan and Haley's first kiss
This is where it all begins...

Number 1:
Brooke and Lucas's fight/kiss in the rain
I will forever be a BRUCAS fan!

Here are my 3 favorite One Tree Hill Quotes!

"At this moment, there are 6 billion, 4 hundred, 71 million, 8 hundred, 18 thousand, 6 hundred, 71 people in the world. Some are running scared.. some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day.. others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men at war with good, and some are good.. struggling with evil. 6 billion people in the world, 6 billion souls -- and sometimes...all you need is 1."

"Someone once said; "It's the good girls who keep diaries. The bad girls never have the time." Me? I just wanna live a life I'm gonna remember, even if I don't write it down." -Brooke Davis

"Because it's only when you're tested that you truly discover who you are. And it's only when you're tested that you discover who you can be. The person that you want to be does exist, somewhere in the other side of hard work and faith, and belief and beyond the HEARTACHE and fear of what life had." Lucas Scott

My three favorite characters from ONE TREE HILL
(lets be honest i LOVE them all but these three were always my close personal favorites!)

Number 1: BROOKE DAVIS
How could not love Brooke?
She's tough, sensitive, gorgeous and hilarious
Not to mention she's so relatable

Number 2: Haley James Scott
How can you not love tutor girl herself?
She's wise, talented and loyal!
 Number 3: Chris Keller
I adore Chris Keller
He's funny, charming and always up for a good time.
Yes he causes trouble but he looks soooo good doing it!

As we are faced with the ending of our beloved show i leave you with this....
"Most of our lives are a series of images, they pass us by like towns on a highway. But sometimes a moment stuns us as it happens and we that this instant is more than a fleeting image. We know that this moment, every part of it, will live on forever." Lucas Scott

little moments....

"It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped."
Tony Robbins

Today i was standing next to the ocean, and i realized how small we really are and how quickly things  change...the tear on my cheek was so minuscule  compared to the mass of water next to me.. Life is all about moments, moments that define us, moments that make or break relationships...
it only take one moment, a second in time for everything to change..

In a moment you can uncover a lie that will destroy a friendship, one that you thought could last lifetime. In some ways losing a friend hurts more than losing a significant other, this is the person who you trusted your secrets too, the person you laughed and cried with.  and then in an instant it crumbles to the ground... but you realize there are more important things in life than being bitter, and you have to let the memories out weight regrets...in fact there shouldn't even be regrets, lives too short...so for you my friend... thank you...
and in another moment...
it can set you free, I've been holding on to a hope and dream for over a year and today i realized its time to set you free. nothing in the world means more to me than you...but the truth is your far away and theres no guarantee you will be home. i can't live my life holding onto something that may never become a reality. I'm letting so much slip through my fingers while I'm waiting on you to come home. All the dreams and promise are fluttering through my head and heart, which are in a constant battle. even though my head wins in this instant my heart will always keep you close...this doesn't mean my feeling have changed...i adore you with everything i am, but i have to start living. Who knows if when you come home   where ill be but if we are truly meant to be then this is all irrelevant. You will always have a piece of my heart DJK.

And in this moment, i start over....its not going to easy, its going to be really really hard but who knows what my next moment will bring me...

Alway live for moments..

Twilight Killed Romance.

A few weeks ago i was walking to though Target and I over heard a conversation, and being the creep i am, i decided this conversation was worth my time. (by the way they were having a very loud conversation in public, it was like they WANTED me to listen)  Anyway..it went as such...
Girl 1 "Honestly i think Twilight is the most romantic movie ever.."
Girl 2 "OMG i knowww, i wish i could date a vampire."
Girl 3 "OMG or a werewolf...they are always so hot."
Girl 1"i know right, they just have a sexy gene."
Girl 2 "I love the way Edward looks at Bella."

ME: SPEECHLESS.....
first of all...He looks at her like he wants to EAT her...
2nd of all she always looks like she's constipated.

But seriously...how in the world does Twilight even classify as romance? Its absolutely heartbreaking to me that girls think this is romance. Has our society seriously dumbed down the idea of romance that far? if you ask me, some guy watching me sleep is considered stalking not romantic...Not to mention the idea of actually wanting to date a vampire...this has gotten out of hand.
Twilight has 'staked' the standards for REAL heartfelt romance...

What happened to the 'Gone With the Wind' or 'Casablanca' standards of romance? When a guy actually respected a woman?  Where you could watch the movie and see them fall in love...not them having one date and then something going wrong...and then falling into bed with each other. Somewhere along the lines we as a society decided that sex was the definition of love and romance. This is ridiculous...the last 5 minutes of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' has more romance in on kiss than all these cheesy romance movies made in the past 10 years combined.
Don't believe me? have a look for yourself...

However this what we consider romance now...
It's a travesty honesty...what kind of impression are we giving young woman.? That sex is the only way to fall in love. Or its okay to not have standards. Let's be real...we are killing romance. i mean it doesn't actually stand a change when these Romantic Comedies are setting the bar so low. All i know with images like this floating around its no wonder chivalry is dead. I'd love to see a shift in this, real heart breaking romance but in a era of sequels, prequels, and sex sells- i don't see this happening anytime soon.
While the majority of girls buy into this ROCOM bullshit...i on the other hand believe it's better to have realistic  standards than sell out to a commercialized standard of "love". So you better believe this girl will stick to higher standards of romance...even i will remain part of a dying breed.
Keep it Classy-
